I am a general practitioner, which is to say that I work with a wide range of problems including depression, addictions, life transitions, women's issues, relationship concerns and more. Rather than viewing one's psychological life through the lens of "symptoms" or diagnoses, I prefer instead to look at the whole person, and to understand how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are consistent with our backgrounds and upbringing. I believe they always are. The kind of therapy that I offer is insight-oriented and integrative, and my clinical thinking is grounded in what we call relational, or interpersonal, psychodynamic thought. If you have any questions about that means, I encourage you to ask me about it. My clinical experiences and training have included work in outpatient clinics, residential treatment centers, and in-patient units of psychiatric hospitals. I am a registered psychological assistant (PSB 35596), supervised by Dr. J. David Frankel (PSY 14739). |
